Sometimes the toughest decisions lead to the most profound growth.

Years ago, my mom fired a woman who had been the top performer in her kitchen for 25 years. Despite her productivity, she was toxic, creating problems and spreading negativity. It was a difficult, contentious firing, but six months later, that same woman returned to thank my mom.

Being let go freed her from the "golden handcuffs" of a job she excelled at but despised. She found success and fulfillment elsewhere, realizing she was burnt out and too afraid to leave on her own.

This is a powerful reminder that making hard choices can open the door to new opportunities and growth.
