Dave McClurg

Dave McClurg is a member of Petrie + Pettit’s Labor & Employment practice group with a long track record of successfully defending employers accused of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and failure to accommodate their employees’ disabilities. Dave also represents employers facing wage & hour, employee misclassification, and duty of loyalty claims, and is frequently asked to assist his clients with the drafting and enforcement of non-compete, confidentiality and independent contractor agreements.
Although Dave is well-equipped to represent the interests of clients who are forced into litigation, much of his time is devoted to working with clients to minimize the risk of litigation by developing and implementing appropriate employment policies, manuals, procedures and agreements to address potential problems before they arise. He regularly advises clients on issues relating to reduction-in-force layoffs, terminations, severance agreements and return to work issues to help employers avoid pitfalls that can lead to expensive claims.
Dave is a member of the Labor & Employment Sections of the Wisconsin and American Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in the Courts of the State of Wisconsin, The United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Dave received both his undergraduate and law degrees, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
